Help for Easy Camera Solutions on macOS. A Windows build exists but hasn't been verified on real Windows hardware yet — check back before relying on it.

Download

Both are direct downloads, not distributed through the Mac App Store, so macOS Gatekeeper will show an "unidentified developer" warning the first time you open one. Right-click (or Control-click) the app and choose Open, then confirm — you only need to do this once. If macOS still blocks it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and look for an "Open Anyway" button near the bottom of the page.

Common questions

How do I add a camera?

Open Manage cameras and either enter its IP address directly or use Scan network to find cameras on your local network automatically. You'll need the camera's RTSP username and password — check the camera's own app or its label.

The app can't see my camera

Confirm your computer and the camera are on the same local network, that RTSP is enabled on the camera (some cameras call this "ONVIF" or "RTSP stream" in their settings), and that the username/password are correct. If macOS asks for a "Local Network" permission the first time you add a camera, allow it — without it, ECS can't reach any camera.

How does face identification work? (Pro)

Add a known person from a clear photo under Faces. When ECS detects a face it doesn't recognise, it groups similar unrecognised faces together so you can label the whole group with one name in one step, instead of photo by photo.

Does ECS need an internet connection?

No. ECS only talks to cameras on your local network. The Pro edition's detection models are bundled inside the app, so it never needs to download anything to work.

What happened to the "Full" edition?

Same app, new name — what was called "Full" is now "Pro". Nothing about what it does has changed.

What data does ECS collect about me?

None. See the ECS Privacy Policy.
